You need to search a bit better. They have screens for the E39. Feel free to ask the website owner which model you should use for your car.

fladave99 says:

I did all that . When I started it up the screen went back and the whole car turned into a Volkswagon. WTF!

Bobby Chen says:

Thank you very much, BluePurpleRed Guides
Your screen replacement DIY worked very well for me
I spent about an hour this afternoon replacing my damaged LCD screen with a new one.
Cheers!

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Hi. I am not the manufacturer, you would need to fill out the small form on the website and ask them for current pricing.

Dee B says:

how much does the screen cost roughly? sinc eit does not indicate on the address mentioned, its for a e39 2003

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Okay, thank you for sharing, I didn’t want to risk manually pushing the screen down.

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Glad to help you stick it to the STEALERship!

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Well, I doubt you’re still having this problem as it was 3 months ago, but I would have gone back to ensure that no cables inside the unit were left unplugged. Especially in the last step it is easy for the wires to get loosened.

swx02 says:

I replaced the screen as in your video, plugged it all back in..it started up but wont get passed the first warning screen about not using this unit in traffic…and none of the buttons work on the unit either please help!!

vanderbilly says:

Excellent video. I called BMW yesterday and they said it was $2,500+ (parts only) for a new replacement screen, yes that much just for just the replacement display, not the GPS and everything else, just the display. Thanks for posting!

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

I am not sure if I can help address your issue. I replaced my screen because of bad pixels. Your issue may be related to a different issue.

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Thanks for your feedback. It would appear that removing the fuse would be safer alternative to forcing the screen down manually.

BMWg84 says:

Don’t remove the fuses you can pull the monitor down manually.

MrAlpinab7 says:

what can happen if you don’t remove the fuses? also, sometimes the blue goes away from the screen colors, usually when it is very hot…how can that be dealt with so the image will remain the same? Thank you

ibgmc says:

Thank you so much for taking the time to create this! I’ve only had a few pixels go out on my X5 (2006 4.4i Sports package/winter) and I assume that it’s only a matter of time before more start to go. I live in Missouri, and we had a heat wave that hit approximately 102 (I can only imagine how hot it got in inside). When I returned, the pixels were gone. I have no idea if it is a heat related issue, but I’ve heard stories of them returning in time. Thanks again for the contribution.

cncmastr says:

All of that information is posted on the original post. There is a link that shows where you can buy the screen.

frankcarlyle says:

Thanks for the video, I have 2004 X5 4.8 and I am having the same problem of losing the pixels on the LCD screen, but BMW service people told me that I have to get whole unit replaced (costing around NZ $3200) because I cant get a new LCD screen on its own.
Please let me know from where I can get the screen and what is the part no so that I can order it. Thanks
