lol thats not a 2002 m5 steering wheel .. its exactly the same as the one
you had …

E39Source says:

It’s a 9/99-9/01 M5 steering wheel. He had an E39 Sport wheel before.

Sebastian K. says:

Yup, that’s an issue, agree with that

Leo Chronis says:

Hi guys. I want to use a E60 steering wheel for my E39. What are you
thinking of about? Is it possible?

E39Source says:

Regretting our channel name. We welcome any BMW here! We’d love to see some
E36 videos if you catch my drift… About the air bag- as long as an air
bag is plugged in, and the connections are satisfied, it shouldn’t throw
the light on.

E39Source says:

Colt and I both feel that the later-model steering wheel doesn’t really fit
the car as well. It looks too new and almost aftermarket. While I agree
it’s a better wheel and design, I don’t think it makes the interior look
better. Plus @Mitsuboi3669 is right, if he had purchased the near wheel,
it would have been another $500 or so to get the new airbag that goes with
it.

EXCELLENT VIDEO. i have a question for you . how did you replace the Turn
signal knob and how much was it, my BC button stopped working after going
to the carwash and inside the car got kinda foggy! it was winter .

MICHAEL MALDONADO says:

Like always… Great vedeo

E39Source says:

Honestly, there are so many electronics in an E60 that even if the physical
mounting hardware is the same, you’ll never get the airbag and all of the
controls hooked up correctly. If you really want an updated steering wheel,
I’d recommend you purchase a 2003 E39 steering wheel.

blaze3258 says:

is this the same for an e36

nahvarj says:

That is not a 02+ steering wheel.

E39Source says:

No idea, but it sounds like a legit possibility.

Melvin Hale says:

Good video. Question: any reason you went with the 2000 M steering wheel vs
upgrading to the nicer 2001-2003 steering wheel?

Sebastian K. says:

The new one you fitted isnt a 2002 model year steering wheel, its the one
from the pre facelift m5’s before 2000.. so why?

AdamAus85 says:

One of the most dirty trunks I have ever seen…. but good/helpful video,
lol.

E39Source says:

This is true, Colton and I actually the prefer the older one. In our
opinion, the 02+ looks a little too modern for the E39. They are nicer
though, and look great! I personally prefer it in an E46 M3.

cristiancr791 says:

I have an e36, if i buy an after market wheel will my airbag sensor be an
issue? will i get that air bag light on? i know i know its an e36 but we
dont have a cool ass channel like yours. thanks

Mitsuboi3669 says:

If you Google “2002 M5 interior” you will see that the wheel is different
design than his current wheel, meaning that airbag is also different
design. So if he upgraded to the facelifted steering wheel, that would
cause him to have to purchase the new airbag design, which cost around $475
on the low end

E39Source says:

Likely a similar process. Good luck!

fredgust84 says:

You guys should do an Eletric Fan conversion video.

zekan23 says:

you should change your front driver’s seat !

atvkid0805 says:

Did you paint your door cards & dash?

Mathias Velde says:

What about e46 1999? From stock steering wheel to sport steering wheel?
