BMW 3 Series Windshield and Headlight Washer Pump DIY Pump Replacement

In this video I show you how to replace the washer pump on a BMW 3 Series E90. I go over all the items you need to do this job easily. This is a common problem on this BMW. The washer pump can fail due to an algae build up on the pump screen.

You are very articulate and thorough in your DIY but I was getting a little nervous with how rough you were being with some of the parts! Great job and something I will be tackling shortly.

I'll be doing this today thanks for sharing this, very helpful.

Thanks for doing this video! I've got an issue with the front washers on my F30, and I'm guessing it's a clogged pump. I'll be giving this a try here this week.

Andrew Hennelly says:

Very well done video. You must be a teacher!. I did mine today. I just cleaned the black gunk in the filter/screen and it seems to be working fine now. I did not run the pump dry very much so I am gambling it will be OK. Never had to do this before in 40 years driving.

Thanks for the video! I used this to help replace the pump on my E92 and it worked great. One difference from the video was the absence of the plastic rivets on the inner wheel well liner – the outside edge just tucked inside the fender all the way around and there were only 8mm screws and one 10mm nut to take off. Definitely made removing that panel easier. Thanks again!

Christopher Aquart says:

Just what I needed for DIY on my e90. Great video!

Clovis Tanganelli says:

The E90 is a little bit different, there is a quick connector out of the pump. It was loose, I just plug it again and it worked fine. Thanks for showing how to remove the trim panel.
