3 Ways to Diagnose your BMW (+Foxwell Scanner Review)

Today, we’re looking at the 3 options BMW enthusiasts have to diagnosing their cars at home. Between an OBD bluetooth adapter, a brand-specific scanner, and dealer-level software, you can diagnose and fix almost any issue on your car. Hopefully this video helps you decide which tools you need and how to use them!

To scan your Check Engine Light using your phone, I use a bluetooth adapter like this: https://amzn.to/3uvEZDm (affiliate)

Or, if you want to use dealer-level tools, you can download software on the internet (bimmergeeks for example) and use a K+DCAN Cable like so: https://amzn.to/3Gqu6oJ (affiliate)

Just got an f30 a month ago and got a check engine light and brake light that just turned on a few days ago. So this video definitely came in clutch and is very informative being that I’m gonna have to run a diagnostic on the car myself soon so I really appreciate it man!!

For $50 less than the Foxwell, you can get a xtool anycan a30m that has access to all modules with bi directional and service resets. Also it has free lifetime updates.

Whats the best and most affordable scan tool for German cars?

@ronnierabell1 says:

The k+D CAN cable only works for INPA not ISTA. Ista needs a enet cable. And inpa doesn't need a powerful latop, you can run it on a dou core intel on windows xp, also….. stop lying about your laptop, shit cost about 400 bucks at most, not 8 to 9 hundred
