I put the Jl audio tw5 on my e46 but I remove the center plate behind the
rear armrest. I get 0 rattle.

AWESOME! I don’t know if you knew but I’m pretty sure the reason why you
can still hear the rattle outside is because of the Trunk Air Vent Covering
Breather.
