Failing To Start On Volkswagen, Audi Or Skoda – How To Fix

Failing To Start On Volkswagen, Audi Or Skoda – How To Fix

In this video I carry out diagnostics on an Audi A4 that came into my workshop with an intermittent error message on dash – Alternator not charging battery & failing to start – this vehicle had been to other workshops prior with no success.
Fitting a new battery, fitting a new alternator and still have the same problems?
I share the most important info in this video of how I fixed this problem. If you are having issues with your charging system or if you ever changed a battery in your Volkswagen Or Audi that has a battery energy management system, it would be advised to check the coding of the battery.
I show how to enter your new BEM code & what to check in measuring blocks afterwards.

Thanks to everyone who watches my videos, Likes, Shares and or leaves a comment. I appreciate everyone of you.

That vendor code should be VA0 not VAO

Hi, could you leave the old battery in and only change the code ? Make the car think you've put a new battery ?

Grahams World & Grahams Grass cutting service says:

Hello thanks for this advice … my problem is I recently had to have a replacement engine fitted.. in the mean time the battery had discharged.. I believe the battery might have been taken out of the car and charged up on the bench …. now since getting the car back every now and again I get a battery low message flash up … now do you think I need to re register my battery???

Very interesting video, especially the VCDS weirdness. Thanks for sharing this info!

GOLD CAMP MANAGEMENT LLC says:

The vendor code for Varta is VA0 (numeric zero), not VAO (alpha) – and is probably why it wouldn't accept your entry. If you look at your battery, BEM uses a slash through their zero font however, the next particular sequence is also using a zero in the vendor code and serial number.
