Easy!!! I just did this job with my 14 yr old son, I am disabled, in 20 minutes. If we can do it, anyone can. Getting the clips off is the hardest part, used the pick idea and they came right off. Thanks for the video, you just saved me hundreds of dollars!!!

vasile trusca says:

damn Bentley….would have killed you to go in all that detail and give a broke poor DIYer the spark plug gap spec? 🙂

Prolojg says:

my gap was 0.028 inches for 2008 b7 model

*In this video they tell you to use 30 newton-meters or 22 ft-lbs. of torque at about the 2:20 mark of the video

nar83 says:

It means to tighten the spark plug using an exact amount of force – no more, no less. You use a torque wrench to accomplish this – there are many types out there but each one has some method of letting you know how much torque you are applying. I don’t advise performing this process without one. I bought a $25 “beam” style torque wrench at Sears, no need for a fancy pants one that clicks for this process IMO.

what do you mean when you say torque the spark plug to the proper torque speck? this is the first time i’m going to attempt this i just wanna make sure. also, with the torque wrench, how does it identify that i have properly torqued the spark plug? thank you.

Just curious, what is the part number for an NGK sparkplug for a 2007 audi a4? I keep getting different recommendations and I don’t know which to go with. Thanks!

Larry Topping says:

This is great, how do I remove Check Engine Codes or will the car do that itself?
Thanks

TTURocketDoc says:

Aren’t you supposed to use anti-seize when installing a steel spark-plug into an aluminium cylinder head?

mymoney301 says:

Would this work on a 2006 vw passat 3.6l??

BentleyPublishers says:

NGK and other spark plug manufacturers do pre-gap spark plugs. Just check that it is the correct gap for your vehicle.

BentleyPublishers says:

The extention I used there looks like an 8 inch and the socket is 5/8″ spark plug socket.

Thanks for the feedback.

ripripstabstab says:

Always clear, concise videos but how long is the extension and what size socket fits spark plugs? Not all of us DIYers are savvy when first starting.

BentleyPublishers says:

It should be listed on the emission label in your engine compartment.

What’s the gap on the plugs? I have an 07 A4
