duuuuuuuuude!!!! i have been googling my ass off to figure out why i couldn’t find where my issue was. definite life save +1 mate.
Thank you! I’ve been chasing an idle misfire and codes for fuel trim (too lean) and idle too high. Your diagnostic pinpointed the crankcase ventilation valve as the culprit. Air blows straight through it in both directions, and plugging the hose as you suggest and clearing the adaptations brought the engine back to a smooth idle.
I’m tryna figure out what’s wrong with my 02 A6 3.0. The RMS needle bounces around somewhere under 1000 when idling, and the car shakes when idling and accelerating.
When I plug in my obd2 scanner it reads error .. does audi use a different type of scanner?
Plugging the hole long term will create high pressure in your crank case. If the crank case pressure is not released through the engine intake then it will have to go somewhere else. This will most likely cause oil leaks and other more expensive repairs in the future. $115 is not a bad price compared to the alternative cost of not doing the repair.
I cannot find one of these for cheaper than $115, what would happen if I did not replace it, just plugged the hole?
Nice to see proper Diagnostic and no just obd use
thanks for the vid, i have a 2002 a4 3.0, same engine, its missfiring on all cylinders, this could possibly solve my problem.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I think I have the same problem with my 02 A4 3.0, Will look a little deeper tomorrow. Cheers
Good vid I found same prob 03 audi a4
