I agree ! This is not a safety install . No Latex gloves which you need to
protect the windshield and the oils in and on you skin. Definitely not Sika
certified.

and the guy on the passenger side should not be helping as he is a hack.

claddagh1000 says:

no gloves, which is a no no in this profession and he pushes up and out on
the top of the glass, also just asking you, did u see them put black primer
on the pinchweld before they put the glue/urethane down. ? it looks like
black paint. if they didnt prime they sould not be doing this as it’s so
very unsafe if you got into an accident.

OFoxHldgs says:

Looks like they did a decent job, especially for the $150 paid. Is that
total cost, or was that your insurance deductible? But…. In reality they
should have removed the whole lower cowl (lower rubber gasket) and the
wiper arms. They left them on to save time and looks like it came out okay,
but having it removed would ensure perfect placement. The black primer is
to ensure that any scratches in the paint are covered to prevent any rust
if moisture seeps past the seal.

Just love when people dont take the cowls off and stuff it in.

I didn’t go through my insurance,i paid out of pocket 150.00 cash,labor
included. So far so good, this is the 3rd wind shield that i had him replace
on my car. I never had a problem with any of them. ^_^

morpheousx says:

Why do you say,he’s a hack?

morpheousx says:

what is a cowl?

claddagh1000 says:

It is the part under the wipers. black plastic. when you dont take it off
you can roll the bead of urethane and then it wont seal correctly, see it
everyday. Thats why they are using the white fiber sticks prying up the
cowl when they set it. and not wearing gloves , which the oils from them
can contaminate the glass.
