If they’re both on the same switch, you may want to test the switch to see
if it’s working correctly.

scottspook says:

i have this problem on my 2000 honda civic sedan. do you have a video for
that? and/or is it very similar to this one? it seems pretty standardized
from year to year thanks!

Sharee Guyton says:

The motor was replaced, but now the wipers are in the up position when
turned off….

mmbengs says:

Thanks for the great video, Mike. I have a 96 Honda Accord and not sure
whether to order Linkeage or both Linkage and motor. Still makes a noise so
assume motor still functions. Think I’ll scope your site. Thx again. 🙂

1A Auto Parts says:

It sounds like you might just need a new wiper arm. Remove the wiper are
and turn the wipers on to see if the stud turns. If it does check out the
inside of the wiper arm that covers the stud, it may be stripped.

1A Auto Parts says:

You should be able to take the whole wiper arm off of the stud that it
attaches to on the cowl, and position it a little bit higher on the
windshield so that it doesn’t hit the windshield frame.

jordanc17 says:

Turns out they were spliced together under the dash to bypass a broken
switch… Not the right way to fix a problem…..

Richard Barrett says:

Thank you, great video! The most difficult part was lining up the clips etc
when putting back on other than that it was smooth!

1A Auto Parts says:

You may need to re-position the wipes when they are turned off, and in the
parked position. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Jessica Cassidy says:

Thank you. This video is great! I thought this was going to be hard, but in
this video you make it look easy! 🙂

1A Auto Parts says:

@scottspook You may be able to shim it with a washer, or check to see if
something is blocking them from seating properly.

scottspook says:

when i went to put the motor mounting bolts back on, they didnt go in as
far as before, there is a 1/4” gap between the assembly and bolt head not
sure what to do bushing?

1A Auto Parts says:

Glad you got it fixed. Have a great day.

Logan Salmons says:

Go to advance auto or a car shop and ask for the winsheild wipper pucks or
linkagess and trust me it suck on the install

1A Auto Parts says:

@LightBlack89 They may be in the wrong position of that stud. You could try
to reposition the wiper arms to see if it resolves the problem.

Mar4elius says:

I have the same problem with white caps on my Honda accord 2001. Hhe one,
which is clother to the motor fell off a little bit (but it still holding
there), that’s why my one rod moves little, and it as a result one blade
always hits the edge of the window, can you tell how did you fix this? have
you found a new caps or you bought a rods already with caps?? thank you.

1A Auto Parts says:

Possibly change the nozzel on it to a new one and see if it helps.

mmbengs says:

Great video. Gonna try. Now to your parts site. Thanks again. 🙂

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to see if the dealer could get you a new one. If not the new
wiper transmission comes with them installed.

Revolution914 says:

@ 5:32 the wiper linkage bushings(the white pieces) are not sold in auto
parts store, but can i order them separately from dealer or something? or
does 1A auto sell them? or is that just the dust seal, i am not sure!?
thanks for this free, helpful video by the way!! that little white part
broke on my 99 acura 2.3CL and now my whole wiper system is not
functioning, motor is intact as i can hear it trying to propel the wipers
but since that little white piece is broken, the wipers will not budge!

ron cropsey says:

Best replacement video I found and I looked at a lot. thank you for your
help. I will use you from now on and if I need parts I will use you. Thank
you again.

1A Auto Parts says:

@PTFROMNC This can lead to squeaking in the wiper mechanism, or one or both
of your wipers may not work because the shaft is stripped on the linkage.

1A Auto Parts says:

That little piece is a plastic bushing. You might be able to pick it up
locally.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the wiper arms to see if they are stripped. If all of
the linkage moves and the posts that the wiper arms attach to move, but the
arms do not the inside of the wiper arms may have striped. You would need
to replace the wiper arms if this has happened. Hope this helps you out.

drowization says:

Thank you. But I found out what happened. The arm came of the linkage, (if
that makes any sense) thier is a cap that holds the arm on, and the cap
came off, therfore the arm came off as well. Just not sure where to find
one now. Thanks you for your help.

1A Auto Parts says:

You could try to re-position them on the wiper studs.

fun4reffis says:

U just saved me 120 bucks….thanks! and repaired it in less than an hr

fredbe31 says:

Thank you. This video is great good job

MrJayFrech says:

THX ALOT MY FRIEND YOU SAVED ME SOME MONEY !!!

sinnieleeonUtube says:

I have an Integra 94 and one of the linkage’s arm fell off because the
white cap (on the left) the keeps the joint together fell off. When I put
it back on, it is very loose and fell off again. It seems like it was
assembled by a press machine. In the video you snaped the white cap back it
place and it didnot fell off (the white cap on the right close to the
motor). Are they the same kind of cap ? Do I need to get a new linkage or
can it be fixed by getting new caps ? Thanks.

deezol says:

at 4:55, what is that white little knob you had to pop out called? I’m in
need of one of those.

sinnieleeonUtube says:

The dealer said I can purchase the two rods (come with the white caps
installed) . Can you take these rods off and put them back on without any
issue, with just the screw driver (like when you pried one end of it off to
install the motor). If this is true then I can just replace the rods. Do
the wiper transmission components the same for most cars ? Is there a
specific terminology for these rods ? Thanks.

1A Auto Parts says:

We sell the transmission linkage as shown in the video with the caps
installed. The part number on our 1aauto.com website is 1AWWT00015 or you
can call Tony @ 866-403-3393

Hauntguy311 says:

Not sure if anyone can answer but i have a 97 altima and my passenger side
wiper works but today out of nowhere my driver side does not. Does this
mean it’s the motor? Or what should i replace? I tried tightening the bolt
thinking maybe it was just loose but no..It moves like an inch and then
just stops while the passenger side continues to go back and forth like
normal.

1A Auto Parts says:

@mmbengs Thank you very much. If you have any questions at all or need any
help. We’re here to help you. Have a great day!

1A Auto Parts says:

@mmbengs You could try the motor without the linkage attached to see if it
turns. If it does then you may just need the linkage. Hope this helps you
out.

1A Auto Parts says:

The issue might be with the actual switch. If the switch no longer has the
“Off’ function, it will have constant power going to the motor.
