My 2006 Acura TSX had a whining noise when turning the wheel. I noticed the steering became less smooth and over time the noise got louder. This is one of the the easiest repairs you can do and applies to many Honda and Acura vehicles. All you have to do is change 2 rubber o-rings on the inlet and outlet hoses.
All you need is a 10mm socket wrench and the 2 o-rings. Part numbers below:
91345-RDA-A01
91370-SV4-000
If this does not fix your problem, the next thing I would check is the hoses and then finally consider replacing the pump altogether if the issue persists.
