A few notes:
-You really should not jack up the car from the point used in the video. There’s actually a dedicated floor jack lifting point on the middle of the front sub-frame near the lower edge of the bumper (see official service manual). Not only is this safer, but it also lifts both front wheels simultaneously, saving time.

-The drain bolt is 17mm, not 11/16″. While these are almost the same size, 11/16″ is slightly too large and could cause damage to the drain bolt.

How many miles do you get out of the oil life montior for every oil change.

YouDoober says:

Actually I just wait till it goes to 0, then I make a note to change it within the next week. There is actually a lot of debate over “when/what” percentage… but waiting until 0, has worked fine for me.. motor still runs like a champ.

john1240able says:

what % do you change oil

YouDoober says:

I do as a general guideline.

john1240able says:

Do you follow that oil life montior in car for oil changes

YouDoober says:

I try to do it in accordance with manufacturer specs but some of the higher end oils can definitely go a little longer than those specs.

Zack Lockhart says:

you have any problems with leakage after replacing the drain plug? I didn’t replace the sealing washer with a new one like the manual says , and just reused the same one, and i have a few drips everytime i’m parked for a few hours in the same spot….

YouDoober says:

It’s Positive Crankcase Ventilation.. not negative, it blows out – not in. Anyhow, it’s just standard protocol.

YouDoober says:

Thanks for the tip… I’ve been using a standard for a while and no damage. Maybe I’m just lucky.

ChromoFed says:

Thanks! This helped me find the drain plug in the dark.. I’m going to install a Fumoto quick drain bolt.

Andocrx says:

HEy man thanks for the video. But do me a fav the car is from japan meaning they use the metric wrenches not standard. Although it is working for you now , if you keep doing it you will damage the drain plug. Just a hint for you . THanks again.
