When cracking open the banjo bolt on the fuel filter, stuff rags around the area to catch fuel as it squirts out. Some Honda filters have a 12 mm nut that can be cracked open instead of the larger banjo bolt. Some fuel may pour out with a dead pump but on key cycle or cranking mode, if no real fuel is spraying out then the pump is not working for several reasons but the main relay is highly suspect on Honda / Acura vehicles.

SpiderWebUntangled says:

Simply having fuel pump operation does not verify that the main relay is good, the PGMFI Main Engine Relay actually has two relays built in. One for the fuel pump and one for the fuel injectors along with PCMFI ECM power which could have a weak contact allowing computer operation but not enough amps to operate the injectors resulting in a no start due to no fuel injection or ECM not being fully powered. Guys think that listening for the main relay to click is good enough, one relay can be bad.

Just poor planning in advance to set up a video to show a spark tester with no spark on a car that actually has spark. It would have been better to explain why the spark tester was not grounded, for visual purposes of a no spark condition, then actually ground the spark tester after the simulated repair with an explanation of testing procedures for training. Fuel pressure needs to be checked at the banjo fitting of the fuel filter visually to insure the pump is on even with less than norm press.

Aligums says:

I was about to say you forgot to ground the spark tester.
