Just curious why you don't buy that brake cleaner in bulk – it would be cheaper I would think

Alexander Kupke says:

I have seen some guy actually use either a small brush or a popsicle stick with a small notch at the end to spread the RTV. especially the popsicle stick with a kind of v shaped notch left a nice even bead of sealant. Another form I have seen was RTV in kind of a dispenser tube like the one you got for the dielectric grease you usually use on ignition coils. it had a nozzle on it like for a caulking gun and I have seen guys cut a notch in those aswell for application, but I never actually found RTV in those containers, just regular tubes.

Talon Palmater says:

I ain't no mechanic but I thought brake clean was hard on rubbers n plastics like that oil seal? Shouldn't you of cleaned it before you did the seal?

Hi Ray. Greeting from Oz down under luv the channel btw. quick question I am doing a oil cooler change on a Holden Barina TM ( which is Chevy sonic or cruze branded I think in the US ? ). This car does not have a radiator cap only the overflow coolant tank. Just asking if you know when i go to refill the coolant (after it is drained of course) is it self bleeding of air when refilled and started? It has what looks like a bleed screw on the top of the rad which I assume is for bleeding air when refilling the coolant, But reading forums and peoples web site seem to be conflicting views to use that bleed screw or not ? I am not interested in a full coolant flush just want to refill what I took out an make sure nor air is in post fix.

Ian Tyler says:

Is it my imagination or is that main seal seated much further in than it was before? Clearly that seal plate was not removed.

WVHillBilly says:

Your "that was kinda rough" bolts are rough because the bolts pick up sealant squeeze-out on their way in and turns into a squishy loctite of sorts.

Lard says:

Why would you pull the engine out instead of the transmission?????????

Lard says:

Got enough shit RTV on there??

JFnotK says:

Puh, that looks for me as too much sealant. I use Loctite 518 for these flanges. It comes with a thin nozzle that allows to apply a spaghetti thin trace. If the flange is ok and even, that is quite enough. No relevant squeezing out but good seal.

S Khurshid says:

Doesn't brake clean damage rubber gaskets?????

Charles Kadletc says:

Wish you would show you reinstalling the motor.
