How to replace the floor shifter assembly. Same for all 07-17 Expy and Navigator. Common issue on these is they break the Park detent/return as it is all plastic causing an assortment of issues.
My 2016 Expedition had a battery drain over night as the truck did not think it was in P (the P on the dash was always white and never Orange when selected, so my door chimed and my cluster stayed dimly lit where the PRND was located), and it would not let me remote start it, as well as i had a light buzzing/wind up type sound when i placed my hand over the shifter.
I purchased a used replacement off ebay for $125 and about 20 minutes later, wala, i have working Remote start, my battery drain is gone, and no more buzzing.
Tools Needed:
7mm socket
8mm socket
8 inch or longer extension
socket wrench
clip/door panel removal tool or flat head screw driver
Roughly 20 minutes of your time.
