This is how to replace an Starter on a Jeep Wrangler JK 3.6L, It’s really easy and should take you about 30 to 40 minutes max. basically what you need to remove is
1 – Remove the negative Battery Cable
2- Remove 2 15mm Bolts from the rear of the jeep
3- Remove 1 13mm nut from the front of the starter
4- Remove the Connector
5 – Remove the ground cable or connector from the starter
6- Replace the starter

If you have a non-lifted JK, make sure to raise the vehicle with a jack or lift. This will help move the front driveshaft out of the way far enough to get the bolts out. Also, make sure to spray the bolts with some penetrating fluid because if they haven't ever been removed like mine, they are usually stuck in there pretty good.

What were the torque settings for the bolts when you replaced the starter?
NOTE: There is a spacer/gasket between the starter and the trans. When I removed the starter this part slipped into to trans preventing the new starter from sliding on. It took me an hour to figure this out. In all of the videos and blogs I looked at regarding starter replacement this part isn't mentioned.
On my Jeep there is a heat shroud around the starter. In this video the shroud is missing.

My drive shaft gets in the way I can't get to the top bolt, and almost have no room to unscrew the bolts..

Great video. I appreciate the good camera angles. I've replaced starters before but never on a JK. I just wanted to make sure that I knew where everything was located.
Good video, man. My 2013 crapped out on me four days ago. I have tested my battery and alternator, and my cables are good. My next step will be to pull the starter and take it to a place to be tested. I have worked on my 2003 TJ for years, but my JK is only four years old and has never needed any sort of attention from me beyond installing my lift and the typical Jeep aftermarket goodies; zero mechanical or electrical issues until this. So I am very unfamiliar with the JK's various systems. Your video will help me get the starter motor off this afternoon. Thank you for posting this. Good job!
