Hi Sonny, email our Volvo tech Jason at jasonv@fcpeuro.com he’ll be able to help you out in more detail than we can on YouTube.
Hey FCP, this is unrelated to the topic of this video but I need help with my doors. My front passenger door won’t lock properly and my back right passenger door won’t open from the inside. What steps should I do to fix it. any video would be most helpful. I drive a volvo 850. Thanks
Easiest way is just to open the hood and look at it, if you’ve got tears or excess wiggle, it’s time to replace it.
How do you diagnose that the torque rod needs replacement?
You’re absolutely right, we’ve got a few requests for torque specs so we’ve started addressing them in our newest videos and going forward.
FCP videos are good, but I wish there were more details such as torque specs for bolts (which is iportant!) and details like what bolts to tighten first, what next. Like in this vid, you should start the 18mm bolts, but not tighten them until youre done with 14mm bolts.
It sounds like the studs popped out of the mount. You’ll need to use a pry bar to hold force down on the opposite end. You could also snake in some vice grips if possible. It’s not easy but it is possible. Hope that helps.
I was trying to remove the 18MM nuts with hand tool (ratchet). The bolts seem to continuously rotate. Any recommendations to overcome this problem?
@fcpgroton Thanks
Ben’s driver is an Ingersoll Rand TW7150
what drill are you using? Its durable to use with all the videos for volvo ive seen, i need one.
-THANKS
great! i need to do this on my mine LOL
Well…I know where they are, I usually use the front subframe, bit it looks like you didn’t for this one. I’l figure it out.
Because of liability reasons we can’t tell you how to jack up the car, but check out your owners manual, it’ll show you where the jack points are. Hope that helps!
What jack points did you use for that one? I don’t even see your jack stands…
Great, thank you.
Keep the 850 vids coming these are so helpful. FCP is the best
