One radio gave me a hard time and I had to find another spot to join the cable, I believe it was on the rear board.

Robert DIY says:

Hmmm, not sure what the problem could be. I do get interference when I have my phone charger connected. I would open it back up and make sure you do not have a broken wire, bad ground, or solder joint that is touching another. Those wires are tiny and sometimes break.

Hi, I followed this guide to the fullest but when I connect e.g. my mp3 there is a vague sound coming out of the speakers but there’s a very loud ‘buzzing’ noise. Should the cassette be without tape or something like that or is there anything else I’ve missed? Also when I connect my galaxy s4 there is not sound at all.

Robert DIY says:

Cool. Glad it worked for you. Thanks for watching.

Willem van Eijk says:

Very nice Robert, it works great! Thank you very much, very clear explanation.

Thanks

Robert DIY says:

If you had the key on, and the radio on for at least 2 hours, you may have to put the key in position 2 for 2 hours. Not sure why some are 1 and others are 2 but I guess we have Volvo to thank for that. Make sure the car and radio both are on.

You need to get the radio working before you do a mod or you will be wasting your time.

Just want to say thanks for this great video tutorial. Just did this on my SC-805 headunit and it works great!

Robert DIY says:

Yes I do. Some people load a blank tape and disconnect the tape motor so it stays in. I like having my tape deck functional in case I ever need it.

NORMandJAMIE says:

Do u need to keep a tape in

gooddad1975 says:

this mod sounds great

Sebastian Schwarz says:

Does a tape have to be inside the deck for it to work? Or do you just need to have the radio on tape mode?

Robert DIY says:

I sent you a private message about the radio mod.

vmaxx55 says:

What’s your price? I’ll send mine out to you soon if possible.

Robert DIY says:

Not at all. Super clean deep sound.

vmaxx55 says:

I use the cassette adapter everytime I drive my car. Sometimes over a large bump, the cassette skips for 2-3 seconds. Do you have any skipping over bumps issue with your soldering mod?
