FCP Euro says:

You can relieve the pressure in the line by carefully pressing the pin on the schrader valve located on the front fuel rail on the engine. We suggest putting a rag over it and a container to catch the fuel, also safety glasses. Once the new filter is installed all you have to do is cycle the key a few times from off to on (not start) and the pump will automatically prime the system. Hope that helps.

Jacqueline Derrick says:

I think I have to replace my fuel filter. I am really hoping it is not the fuel pump. I figured I would start with the least expensive part first. I have never done a job like this so I have two questions.
1.) How do you relieve the pressure in the line prior to removing the filter?
2.) How do you prime the line after installing the new filter?

Eric Edmonds says:

Ok thanks..didnt know if any special tools were required to remove the fuel lines.

FCP Euro says:

Yup, it’s pretty much the same.

Eric Edmonds says:

I have a 2004 s60 r..does the lines just pull apart like this also?

Hey thanks for the reply, really means a lot that you care for customers. The check engine light is gone now, i believe it might have just been getting used to the new fuel filter, if it appears again , i will be getting the code read. Thanks…

FCP Euro says:

You should get the code read, it could even be unrelated.

Ed Gerard says:

I just switched mine and my check engine light came on, has yet to go away. any advice, thoughts, and details?…pls. car is volvo s60 2007 2.5t

the kaptain says:

Hey where did you put your Jack so that you put your jack stands at that spot . I used that spot to jack up the car.

FCP Euro says:

@JustinBiebersCorpse we primed it by just turning the ignition to accessory 5 or so times. Hope that helps!

JustinBiebersCorpse says:

how do you prime the fuel system? Do you just turn the key to accessory a few times to engage the fuel pump? How do you get the air out? I’m in the middle of doing this so your help would be appreciated as soon as you see this.
