Not nesesary if you have manual transmission. The reason why the SRS airbag service lamp coming is because if you have automatic transmission and the gear shifter is in park, it is not possible to take out the clima controller. And if you take out the cables for the clima when ignition is “on” because you can put it in drive and have more space, the SRS lamp comes:-(
you can get double or single din brackets that fit you car on ebay or other stores.. and you will need an iso adapter

REMOVE THE NEGATIVE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY FIRST! If not, you will get an “SRS Airbag service urgent” warning that needs to be checked and reset by a Volvo dealership. You might also need a security code for the stereo.
