I would like this contribution to be used as a donation towards money owed on repairs to the Volvo.
When you made the comment that the customer hasn't a lot of money and will be making payments for a long time it just touched my heart and felt compelled to help.
I hope others help as well.

pjp80s says:

This S60 volvo was one of the best cars I owned… super fast, reliable and all wheel drive. Great job!

22video11 says:

Ivan, why wouldn't you do the final 130-degree torque? From the video it didn't look like you even got to a full 90-degree.

myko freder says:

It is somewhat a seal like a gasket, but RTV does not hold on oil at all, I would have break cleaned the surfaces for the stick on top and bottom surface. I would have brushed some of the rust off the exhaust surface as glue points for better stick, and let it dry till a sample on some paper is hard.

ReclusiveMountainMan says:

15:13 permatex makes an adhesive spray for gaskets…forgot what it's called. I didn't start using it until recently, but a must in the shop now. Makes things easier.

Had a neighbor i metuchen nj barat..his friend rebuilt his motor and trans. Told him you owe me a favor sometime.. blew my mind..

zoidberg444 says:

Volvos are pretty good cars. Hopefully it lasts the customer another 5 years if he is that hard up for money.

Scott says:

That was brutal Ivan. Glad you got it (mostly) sorted out.

Scott says:

Ivan, you deserve to do craft and a decent work bench!

James Atkinson says:

You did mention about a 'long crank time' after the car started 'missing'. I can offer an explanation; the same amount of fuel is going in to the 'bad' cylinder, but it isn't burning. The oxygen sensor on the exhaust gives an indication that the mixture going in is rich, and the on board computer adjusts to make it 'leaner', but then finds no 'firing' in the other cylinders, and later compensates to start the engine… …all this during a 'start' operation…

sixtyfiveford says:

Such a great feeling when it fires up after a major repair!

Corey497 says:

the best way to check for a bent valve is just to stick it in a drill

Tim Ramich says:

This is wild how youre getting so many dinged exhaust valves around the same time period. What's wilder is that they arent the same type of vehicles, whatsoever. I could see if they were all one manufacturer.

Nice of you to help some folks out, I’ve done same but folks that make 1000 times more than me would want free part and labor is what kills my helping forward and makes st usually don’t appreciate anything at all until they need more free services again

Hello sir, @keltecshooter I'm the owner of this great baby. I'm so thankful for what you did and other great people like you follow this donation event. Thank you so much for spreading this kindness, you guys are all GREAT people and I hope you guys always get the good things in this life. Now everyone is invited to a nice beer night this summer sometime and beers are on me so I can thank you guys back in that way. I also appreciate a lot to Ivan not because he is helping me out but because he is such a unique, genuine, and incredible person. Thanks a lot to everyone who gives a hand and it means a lot to me just to see there are amazing people out there. Spasibo, Ivan, you are the king of kings!

Neil Murphy says:

Why are the exhaust gasket separate why isn't it one big gasket

Steve Taylor says:

Creative valve spring compressor.
Make do with what you have Russian engineering
Might have been a good idea to check intake valves when you found the bent exhaust valve

Poot Thatbak says:

Ivan says " i want this car fixed, i dont want it to go to the crusher" beautiful words. We DO NOT take care of our material possessions and throw waay too many things away that could continue operating if we re- invested in them. Isnt that what the green new deal is all about? Save resources, stop expending needless energy, and not dumping waste all over the lands. Fixing our cars is an environmentally sound practice

Rich Brown says:

I'm all about helping someone out, but when they knew that there was going to be some major work that needed to be done they should have saved something for it. You'll get 2 or 3 payments and you'll never see them again. I've been down that road.

Paul Standaert says:

Just to let you know…. I had to pull the plug on Gates belts. Timing belts, Serpentine belts, V-belts, snowmobile belts. I've had WAY too many failures of them in recent years. Its either that, or Rock Auto is selling knock-offs.

rkan2 says:

5 years of credit for an engine job?? How much is that? Wouldn't an engine swap been more affordable already?

Dave Wallace says:

You basically did everything wrong!! You could at least use the anaerobic sealer for the valve cover!! I understand that you’re doing this on a budget!!

CrimeVid says:

My wife had a Volvo for a while, entertaining, like driving a fast brick !

Kurt Welday says:

I got 5 on it. It was worth it to see you make your own spring compressor and I hope it helps cover some of your costs when doing this important work keeping cool cars out of the crusher.
