Love the way these HOW TO videos say things like “carefully unclip the
windscreen lower trim”….. ok, but the word is HOW ?, using what tools if
its stuck ? Would it not be more use to actually SHOW HOW TO DO IT
!!!!!!!!. with tips at each stage ?

what is the part number for the sealing?

hi just recieved the parts very fast thank you. however im having issues
with the winscreen wipers iv undone the bolt but cannot take off is there
any more to do when removing or should it just lift off???

VWGenuineParts says:

Excellent, I’m glad you received good service from our VW genuine parts
postal service. The wipers can get stuck on the spindles after time. If you
press down on the hinged part and wiggle the wiper arm at the same time it
may free itself. If you’re still stick please give me a call and I can do a
FaceTime/Sykpe demo for you. 01763 289472, Nigel.

Thank you for your feedback. This was one of our earlier videos where we
used still pictures. Our more recent ‘how to’ guides are more video based
so you can see when we can’t get something off as well! As far as the trim
you’re referring to – there’s no special tools – it’s just a case of
pulling hard enough, close to the clip, without snapping the trim panel.
Please remember our guides are there to try and help you. It’s hard to
cover every situation you may get into. We get stuck too! 🙂

VWGenuineParts says:

Hi, the part number is AKD49701004R10. We can supply and send it to you to
save a trip to your local dealer. The cost is £7.76 plus £3.75 P&P in the
UK. We can also send outside of the UK with postage POA. Drop us a line at
parts@vwgenuineparts.co.uk

supersesqui says:

Fair enough..but there is no point making a video if the video makers don’t
know more than the viewer or don’t actually show HOW TO overcome problems
safely and without damaging other parts. Not being obstreperous. So for
example. To remove the trim I have found that using a soft plastic
door/window wedge with tip inserted between trim and clean screen and
pushed along the length of the trim carefully will ease up the trim. After
all it may have been there for 12 years !
