I know this is going to be a late reply but this is a great video!
Those who didn’t hear all the proper tools needed:
-T30

-Heatgun/blow dryer
-Clear silicone
Can the Golf be done the same way with the light still on the car? Jetta had – as you remarked – that bracket nested in the lens. So if the golf doesn’t have that, is it simpler actually? Or there other issues.

WHOA that passenger side tire is criminally bald… change that or you WON’T be getting far – that’ll skate if it even LOOKS like rain out! Safety first, man!

Hit a rock the other day, glass exploded… but what are you going to do lol
Just bad luck I guess- same as a rock hitting your windscreen
same concept for my wife’s 05 passat headlights?
they are street legal racing slicks 🙂
30,000 miles no cracks yet
the glass doesn crack when recieving little rocks on the highway?
Thanks, just replaced on my 04. Much improved
leaving them on is better, but yes, you can take them off
can you take the headlights off and do it or is it better on?
yes
so can i go to auto zone to get the sealing adhesive? im about to pick me up a set of those my my black cack round wolf
Yeah … i think it did all those 250k+ miles on one set of tires 😀
No clue, VW used a heat sensitive adhesive that makes it very easy to do this project…not everyone does.
Will this work on an ’09 Dodge Ram? ;P
No, sorry.
Yes, the golf is a bit simpler, and you can do it without removing the headlights from the car.
Are there any glass headlight options for New Beetles? Ive been through 2 sets, about to purchase the third.
