The CCTA engine may be the worst engine VW has made. You can find a long list of TSI engine issues in a matter of seconds. Full video on this dead GTI comes out in a few days.

I was hoping you weren't going to say mine. Thankfully it wasn't a Mark 6 Jetta 5 cylinder.
In think in Australia we were lucky. Fairly sure ALL MkV GTis had the belt… only went chain in Mk6…
It’s funny that you say that yellow wire was used to say hey I’ve been repaired. I’m a Toyota tech and I try my best to make my wire repairs look like it did from factory.
These are bad, BPY is WAY worse. At least when an EA888 fails, the parts are fairly inexpensive. Example, that cylinder head from VW is around $1100 USD. A BPY head is over $4000. When a BPY balance shaft cartridge fails the assembly is almost $2500 a set of 888 balance shafts is only $600.
the wasserboxer is the worst engine VW has ever made. easily.
VW is crap in general, not just one engine
These new 1.5 Ts are in competition for the worst
USA got ea888 in mk5 gtis? I thought they were all ea113 k03s? At least that's all AUS got
Nope the 1.8T was the worst… hands down
The FSI BPY was pretty bad too.
How about the CAVA/D? Wasnt that the one that liked to drink oil like fuel, stretch timing chains for no apparent reason and grenade pistons even on high octane fuel?
Be nice… I have one…
Got an 08.5 with cbfa. Didn't get timing damage. Spun a bearing instead.
Good night bro I have an Audi A4 2015 Premium Plus I just revised the entire engine for oil consumption but the car keeps burning oil and I don't know what to do anymore…some idea why that's happening.
1.4tsi twin charge is the worst
What years do those motors go into? Same as the gti golf’s?
How about the 1.4 twincharge EA111 engine from VW?
timings not the worst thing about these pos engines, the piston rings are the real issue with them and they used these up until 2017.. way too long. plus 100k on stock timing components rlly is the customers fault for not doing maintenance. i know damn will there were cam crank correlation codes before it blew up
