This video shows you how to install a fog light on your 1998-2010 Volkswagen Beetle. Fog lights aim low to light up the road ahead when visibility conditions are foggy, rainy, and snowy. Unfortunately, they are also positioned low to the ground, putting them in harm’s way. If your light has become damaged, you can replace it with an engineered to fit TRQ part, and drive with confidence the next time bad weather strikes.

This repair was done on a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle GLS 2.0L Hatchback 2-Door FWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle

The fog lights being replaced shown in the video are after market, not OEM. It looks like someone cut the OEM fog lights out, hence as you can see 1 minute in, they are zip tied to the grill! On my 1999 the OEM fog lights are screwed into the clip shown at 2 minutes, but also through the corresponding plastic clip on the bumper cover! This means you can't just pop off the lower grill as shown in this video. However, popping out the side of the grill does allow you to bend it out just enough to get a low profile screwdriver in there to remove the screws and take the old fog lights out. At that point you can choose to either screw the new ones as they were, or do as they do here, and pop the grill off and only screw it in to the grill. Thanks for the video though. Showed me just enough I was able to do this without taking the whole front trim off (which is simple but a huge pain).
