Besides wanting the two pieces to look aesthetically the same, is there a reason you cannot use the old part with the physical key and the new part with the buttons and working key ring?

wow I tried this following your directions and it worked! The RFID was glued into place, so I couldn’t switch that part of the case out, but it works perfectly. Now I have a working panic button!

The RFID is the immobilizer which locks you out of the car if it doesn’t match up with the cluster and computer.
