They sell 2.5 gal of DEF at Walmart for $11
This would be the main reason why I will not buy a diesel car: the AdBlue scam of refilling it every 10-12,000 miles. I’d rather buy a gasoline engine and be done with it.
I understand that the adblue fluid lasts you a very long time. So what if you live somewhere where it is very cold like up north, would it not freeze up?? What is its freezing point? I always get the adblue fluid put in by the dealer when i do my full service but im planning on maybe trying some Diesel Exhaust Fluid(DEF) from my brothers semi truck. He gets it cheaper and it also complies with ISO 22241 would that stuff work?
THX in advance
Be sure to turn your ignition on without starting the motor for at least 30 seconds to reset the adblue level sensors in your TDI. Using VCDS will also accomplish this, but if you forgo the use of VCDS, remember this reset step. See and read your owners manual for more details.
this is a big scam
which version of ross-tech vcds u using?
Thanks. This was very helpful!
