You are completely right. My VW dealer told me change the headlight of the
New Beetle took at least 2-3 work hours. With this movie we understand how
dealers get money from car owners…

Robert Walters says:

swearing at it always seems to work !!! I do that too !!! LOL !

what’s the replacement bulb number??

Arimethius2 says:

it is basically the same except you have to pull the breather out of the
way first….I just did mine…no latch as it had already been broken…it
wasn’t easy but it IS doable….had to play with the light a lot to get it
to go in nice and tight…like my mechanic friend said…”good
luck”…still better than paying dealership prices

Annie GeeS says:

if the hatch on the driver side is missing, is there a alternative way to
changing the bulb?

Ryan Monaghan says:

hey man ive got a 2013 beetle, do you know how to change the shift
knob/boot?

JD4S2K says:

Thanks, a breakdown mechanic told me he couldn’t do it because you had to

I think mine (an 06 diesel) is a little different. I’m curious what year
your turbo is. I suspect it is a little older and therefore different. Did
they change it slightly in 05 or 06? I think so. I appreciate your effort
here, though, thank you.

My lever broke off :/

Annie GeeS says:

THANK YOU!!!! I was able to do the passenger side all by lonesome. Curious-
my drivers side latch has broken off and am worried that if I force it out
it won’t get back in place. Not too sure what to do (other than spending
money to replace the whole thing which I dread)

Karl R.O.S. Johnson, DC says:

Thanks for posting this video – it is crazy how much the dealer charges,
that’s for sure! Pretty easy to do it yourself.
