followtheliters says:

how would you tighten the belt tension

1A Auto Parts says:

I do not believe the Passat came with the 2.0L so the install would not be
the same.

1A Auto Parts says:

You would just need to tighten the bolt that holds the tensioner in place.
The tensioner automatically applies enough tension to the belt.

john westendorp says:

is this the same way to replace the tension on a 2000 passat?

Midnight Hoss says:

thanks guys

followtheliters says:

so you’re saying that if you have a loose belt on this car you cannot
adjust the tension you have to just replace the whole unit?

Mark Chaplin says:

Thanks, seems very straightforward. Think I’ll do it myself rather than
paying extra to the garage

keith burleson says:

What if the nob is broken?

1A Auto Parts says:

Hazael Pedroza says:

you helped me out sooooo much thankyou!!

1A Auto Parts says:

You would need to replace the whole unit. The tension automatically holds
tension on the belt.

1A Auto Parts says:

No sure which part you’re referring to.

LavaR0ck says:

could you do a video on removing the alternator on this beetle? Thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this auto
repair.
