UPDATE: My comment that only FSI branded engines have the flat cam follower is incorrect – in fact, I just checked and this engine was branded as TSI. The following link (page 4) has a chart showing all engines and models that have the flat cam follower. Sorry about that.

Gotta remember to rotate the camshaft to a flat end so the cam follower goes all the way in
Mk6 Golf R is an FSI engine, Mk6 GTI is a TSI
Does 1.6 FSI engine has this problems?
What was the torque setting for the 3 bolts.
Just got a MK6 R in September. Love the car, it's Stage 2+ with APR FMIC, HPFP, APR full RSC exhaust but customized by Corsa Exhaust in Berea, Ohio. They used my car to create the RSC exhaust when they teamed up with Corsa. Corsa specializes in corvettes mainly.
Gonna attempt this today as it's around 50 degrees in Cleveland. Wish me luck
Hey, man, I got a problem with my car. my vehicle is an Octavia with a 1.6 fsi engine. I'm driving down the road in my car, and he cuts off gas. the gas needle is fluctuating and the engine stops. the computer shows error code p2293. Service officials say the problem is caused by a high pressure pump. however, since the problem is not always experienced, I think there may be a problem with another equipment. I care about your ideas, and I await your answer.
Wow, that engine is so damn silent. My 8P S3 sounds like a diesel in comparison.
I just came across this video, wanted to ask before buying my golf R tomorrow… The golf R I have has an aftermarket APR High Pressure Fuel Pump in it already, do I need to worry about it in the aftermarket part?
why only 4 cam followers? they wasn t 16 ?
How do I know is time to replace it ?
What make you change it ?
So you don't have to change it on the TFSI ones?
Nice tutorial! I have a question. I own a 2008 Audi A3 with 1.8 turbo engine. This car has the same problem? Thanks.
Aren't you mean to prime the pump with a few turns without starting it first?.
Its only on Turbo FSI's isnt? My FSI (non-Turbo) looks another… or im wrong ?
How do you keep your engine bay so clean? Really trying to find ways to clean my engine bay safely ideas? But awesome diy thanks
Great tutorial, thanks man!
where did u get the that rubber? mine comes without.
What parts number?. ..gti 6,thanks.
Were can buy oring bought kit online didn't come with ring for fuel pump???
.10 seconds of fame
I think they updated the alloy for the cam follower and now it's far more robust than before. Changing it every 10k miles is a bit unnessecery, imho. Some people would change it if there is the slightest discoloring in the black paint thing…
What does it mean if there's no pressure or any fuel that came out of the pressure valve
what a pain in the ass i might just trade my mk6 for a mk7. Its also easier to change the oil on it.
