Dude, you ROCK. I have been paying V/W service $45 every time I have a
burned-out headlight. Enough is enough! I love your simple instructions.
It took me 5 minutes to go to Pep Boys to get the bulb, $14 for the bulb, 3
minutes to do the change. Not to mention it saved me 5 hours sitting in
V/W service waiting on my car. THANKS!
As mentioned – you should hold the bulb with a dry cloth or tissue paper as
the oil from your skin will cause premature failure of the bulb. It even
says that on the box usually! If you’re going to do a guide, you should
really make sure you’re doing it correctly.
Try to replace parking lights…almost impossible…
DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS WITH EXPOSED FINGERS!! Moisture in the fingers
destroys the special glass casing over the bulb. Just a thought for those
who care

there is a metal clip which you need to push in and then to your right. and
it should come out then its the reverse for putting it back in, dint try to
squeeze the two clips together as it will not come out like this push it
down.
I too have problems trying to unclip the high beam
bulb………………………..any links or info would be very much
appreciated.

don’t touch the glass of the bulb with your hand
now try to change the flash/high beam bulb.
its easier to change bulb in mk5 then in mk4 🙂
