Fuel Injector Replacement VW/Audi TSI Engines

Fuel Injector Replacement VW/Audi TSI Engines

Fuel injector failure is not super common on this VW TSI engine. However fuel injector replacement may be needed. In this video we will replace a fuel injector on a TSI engine. You can follow the same process on an Audi TSI, Skoda TSI, SEAT TSI and of course a VW TSI engine. The process will be basically the same for the Gen 3 EA888 2.0t and 1.8t.

8:40 – Unfortunately after having a shop do a carbon cleaning for me at 98k, this fuel pipe is leaking at the fuel rail. Any suggestions of how to tighten it up without removing the intake?

Sy Scheremeta says:

Hey man, I’m about to do this job on my gti and I watched your video on removing the manifold, do I need to remove the hardline from the pump before removing the manifold or after?

kennyq45 says:

Do I need to purge the air from the fuel line? I just replaced my injectors and now pump and rubber fuel line are pulsating. How do you bleed air from the low pressure side of the fuel system? Thanks

Arron Lowley says:

is there anyway to know 100% if you have an injector issue on the ea888 gen 3? my cupra has a pretty poor idle in regards to it shaking, vibrating, can feel it in my steering wheel and peddles when the car idles, it drives fine and my lambda doesnt show up anything. but, what i have noticed is that when the car idles sometimes the fuel requested vs actual can jump around a lot.

The NorthEastOutdoors says:

Do you know if the injector spacer matters? The rebuild kit looks like it contains a different injector spacer than what looks like when I removed from my 2009 a4 b8

Eric Fleming says:

I just bought a 2018 Golf R and your videos are excellent. I am looking to do the Stage 2 modifications. From your videos I'm thinking with enough confidence, I can do a lot of this myself. What torque wrenches do you use? Thank you again for your videos.

Ajna S says:

Great video. Gave me the courage to clean my injectors on SQ5. Having real trouble re-seating though. Followed your instructions but 3 out of 6 just won't go in no matter what. "Gently pushing into place" simply doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Thomas says:

I really love my Audi. But wow it is the hardest car to work on. I lived in Hungary where my TT was made, that’s actually why I got it. Since living in Hungary I have owned 4 Audis, all of which had major components made in Gyor Hungary. I really appreciate your videos that make it possible for me to have these cars; because, as an engineer I wouldn’t stand, or afford, being able to own a car I wasn’t able to do my own maintenance. Thank you.

WhitwellMike B says:

Thanks Charles, My 1.8T A3 developed a power loss, vibration and smoke. I've found number 3 injector stuck open. this really helped me get it all apart. Thanks again Mike

Claudiu K. says:
