Where did you buy your mirror?
Nice BLINDING Aluminium oxide Mirror you installed. Its not your fault as Volkswagen had these mirrors made in China., which is why it distorted so badly by the burning of the heating element. Also you were so lucky that you did not break that mirror as you pushed really hard on it. If it was not for being a Right hand Drive car which was a flat product rather than being a US made Left hand drive car, you would have broken it during the install. Again not your fault at all. Its a shame VW and all the Bavarian made cars are having mirror failure. For all of you reading this Go to https://www.internetglassnetwork.com/ssl/volkswagen/Jetta.htm and go to the bottom of that page where a USA manufacture explains what went wrong with the mirror and would have saved you about 85.00 US. Volvo and BMW are having the same problem/
