Great Video! Good job. A couple things. 1. It is “Mark 4”, not “em kay 4”
2. You have to turn the front clip upside down to get to the tab, but you
mention that in one of the comments. The back one the tab is already down.
3. The first tab I tried to push down was hard as heck, so I sprayed just a
tiny bit of WD-40 on the second one and it came off with my thumb nail.
Much easier! That’s it. Thanks again!
Hi Buddy, Just done this today – all went smooth, thanks for the video. I
found each clip by pushing around the whole thing till I found the slight
indentation when you apply pressure, then WD40’d that then used the method
where you hold the clip in with one flathead screwdriver and slowly push
the clip back (not too much force) with the another flathead. Great video,
great advice, 30 min job first time, 10-15m max any time after that! Simple.
I had a number of misfire codes on my 2000 Jetta VR6, took it down to the
shop. They replaced the Vehicle Speed Sensor and thought I had a
transmission problem. Check tranny, no debris or anything. They replaced
the filter and fluids. (They thought they broke my oil pan and replaced it
for free, hahaha. I had just apoxyd it a few days before.) Anyways… he
thought it was just the Vehicle Speed Sensor that was causing misreadings.
I’m guessing that’s not the case seeing that I still have the
@ZEDNANREHIGH its in my video bro. i show what clips u have to push in with
a flat head screw driver till they click then they come right off. watch
the video again and you will see. All you do is flip the line thing upside
down so the top of the clip you can see and then just push down on the lil
thing and it comes right off
Hi y’all replaced temperature sensor to correct incorrect mixture problem.
My Jetta wouldn’t start when it was hot. it would flood easily and wet the
spark plugs because the fuel air mixture was wrong. This I discovered after
replacing the air and fuel filters as per Ethan B’s brilliant video. Read
somewhere that this may be a factory fault that was swept under the carpet.

Shouldn’t there be presure release valve under the hood? Why starting the
car and removing fuel cap? Also, you dont turn the ignition right on, you
turn it to the end (not starting the car) so that fuel presure can raise
and let fuel flow, leave it like that for 10 sec, then start it, it will
start right away…
Thanks a lot. Just changed the fuel filter on a 10 year old MK4 Golf, went
easy! Good tips re fuse and petrol cap etc. Fingers crossed it will be
starting better now. Fuel pump next if not (any tips on that?)
God I miss my 88 corolla Jedi Snow 88 My wife made me sell it to support
our son. It was worth it though. Nevertheless , anyone in South Africa
driving CA 15176 , take care of her and she’ll take care of you. And may I
buy her back someday?
Did you not have to fill the filter up with fuel before attaching it? –
Only say as I’ve had to do this on Ford Diesels in the past and it’s a pain
to get the car started again
the end was funny as hell

Should be changed every 20,000 or so, less strain on the fuel pump and
better fuel econemy.
Rad!

in the correct direction?
did you put that mfd in (in your dash) or did it come stock w/ it
good video, thanks. I had a hard time finding anything in the manual. I
looked for filter and found it but thought it may be the pump.
Good clip man, thanks!
