THANK YOU
Chris, some guys are telling me that Port-a-Wall don’t fit on radial tire
very well.
hey guys hi,
ATLAS brand high qualty rubber MADE in TURKEY PORTAWALL

When I was a teenager I installed these for my friends at the local gas
station using the exact same method. They were so realistic that you had to
touch them to see if it was a porta wall.
Thanks man I was wondering should I buy them or not and I know I would buy
them now

Are they reusable the pot
Chris: What width size portawall do you generally use?
There is still one question to me: Will these walls do any damage to the
tire, maybe after a while? Because if they would, I´d have to get a set of
cheap tires in order not to destroy my Conti´s. Btw. there is another set
on the internet, found it at ravus.de Don´t know about the prices of both
sets, but the one I found seems a lot more easy to install – they say we
wouldn´t even have to take the wheels off. Greets from Germany, VW -Lovers

Wow! I had no idea such an animal existed. Portawalls! Cool!
Thanks for tip I didn’t know if I should take it off and clean it or just
spray some degreaser thanks chris
can i do this in a tubeless tire?
what brand of tires are you using?
no just follow the video
you use a special glue?
I lost a whitewall on the freeway on my way to school today. Luckily no
cars were harmed in the process., but my bug is now missing one sock. Poop.
Do you reckon most tyre shops will know how to fit these properly Chris?
SMH, i could have used this video a week ago. i had a tire shop install
mine and did a crappy job, over charged me, and to top it off left the
white walls extremely dirty. So that brings me to my question, how do you
clean them? thanks Chris.
Good video. ATLAS is the only way to go on Portawalls. I had some that were
not ATLAS, and they were very stiff and wrinkled. I got lucky, and my local
tire shop knew how to install them right. Never had problems with running
them for a year +
well as long as you have an air compressor you should be able to do it. The
tire should just be fastened down somehow.
Great video, Thanks! I hear that these portawalls sometimes wear into the
radial’s sidewalls, is that true? How do you address that concern?
Superfly 101
@brighteyefilms I’ll check those out, thanks!
When you break the bead, how much pressure do you keep in the tires? Once I
break the bead, will inflating the tire just set the bead automatically?
Well, sounds like they are not installed evenly all around.
What is the life expectancy of the porta wall insert? I have 14×6 1/5 rim
Wich is a common Honda steelie and what to put porta wall inserts on them
what size tire do I recommend that I get to put these porta walls into ?
I got some portowhiyes and they said recommended for bias plys only, and
not for radials
@thanxz911 Westley’s Bleche-Wite for Whitewalls.
lack of experience I suppose. I’m also walking in with my own tires, so
they haven’t made that much money off me! I don’t understand why you put
bead sealer on there, because you put the portawall on top of the tire, so
won’t the bead sealer be squished in between the tire and portawall?
I have some warp on the outer edges, how can i fix this?
@kiwiboy8492 YES< this is what the soapy water air bubble check is for.
Thanks! No one where I’m from knows how (or wants) to install these. So I
have to get my tires mounted, then do this myself. Do you remove the air in
the tire before breaking the bead?
this was the response to the guys at…com when i asked if my tire would
handle a portawall insert. “We dont recommend installing them on anything
under a 75 series. The 15-1-3/4″ may work on a 65 series profile but I
couldn’t guarantee it…” your thoughts?
Pretty interesting. Thanks for the video.
in germany you are NOT allowed to drive with these because might rub into
tirewalls and damage them. that’s why we have to use a set that has a piece
of plastic in between the tire and the whitewall insert… this one:
ravus.de did you never had a problem with them?
E bay has them Item number: 321095992258
I saw you used an air hose to seal the bead, is a tire machine absolutely
necessary to re seal it after the insert is installed?
Excelente video.
in mooneyes dot com it says “Not recommended for radial tires.” do u have
any problems with it??
I want to buy these for a motorcycle, but it’s a tubeless tire and i wanted
to make sure that it doesnt leak the air, i might get that sealer in order
to avoid air leaks… And hey how do they looks after having them on some
months? do they lose the shape or do they are still tight to the tire?
Any ideas on how to clean engine?
