Chris Vallone says:

Not really, depends where you get the floors from. Wolfsburgwest or Gerson
or Jcwhitney.

Wes Gomez says:

You said you had replaced the floor pans, did you have a problem with the
floor pan holes not lining up with the body holes since it was an after
market floor? Please respond.

Chris Vallone says:

thats awesome! I wan to see a finished product! =o)

Kenna Witte says:

Great tips =)

jim strickland says:

Chris, thanks for taking the time to explain in detail this process.
Working on a 69 right now and with the pans being replaced, wasn’t sure
about the gaskets. Great “how to” video.

Tony Luzuriaga says:

This is awesome! Thanks for the tip! I just bought a 66′ today and ned to
redo the right pan, so I figured since I’m doing one side, I may as well do
both. I haven’t built a bug since high school (12 years ago) and even then
I just did mostly cosmetic stuff. Most of what I have leaned as far as
heavy work was from youtube videos including this one!

@brighteyefilms im getting it for 300

Rick Espinoza says:

Chris, thanks alot for explaining this task. My 15 year old son and I just
dropped our 60 bug body back on to our restored pan. Everything worked out
fine. We did this in our garage and used everything you said we needed.
Took us about three hours but that was just because we went very slow.
Thanks again!!!!

Can I put a 1957 oval ragtop shell on a 1967 bug pan

chitopoop says:

hey chris just wanted to know what works best for you wen removing that
nasty gunk material that the original body seal had thanx

vwbeetle1954 says:

well the 57 i bought it just the shell it rust less but it came with no
pan. i have a friend that will sell me a 55 pan but i want a 57so i was
thinking of putting it on my 67 bug pan since the 67 need lots of work on
the shell from the inside…

Jack T says:

See what I’m talking about with the detail Chris goes too? Who uses the
original factory nails when putting down the body seals!? Chris is da’
man!!! He details stuff you don’t even SEE! Somebody stop ’em!! He’s
perfectionist numero uno!
