Although I am not installing this on a Yaris ( a Trailblazer), this was helpful in getting a good idea as to what to expect. I got my FMV kit brand new on eBay for 15 bucks (they are very cheap now). I called around and most places want 120+ to install it. Decided to do it myself.

For Your Information….

Just an FYI.. Even if you do not subscribe to the OnStar services, this unit has one heck of a good blutooth function for $50 it cost to purchase. I tried other (Motorola) units but they sucked. This unit has solid Blutooth performance!

Hi, i installed my Onstar FMV a Different way :O it seems to be working properly,,i Connected the Red and Yellow wires with the same wires my stereo is connected..(including the ground wire)

bairjo says:

Yes the red light is blinking. If you listen to the audio, I was in set up mode. I was doing this video after hours. Once the unit was set up the following day, the light was green and is still green.

D Marin says:

red light is flasing?? its suppose to be green

Thank you much! I just saved 100 bucks in installation labor. 🙂

Thanks for the great video.

Great job on the instructional video. Question: Since the unit only needs to see constant 12v, switched 12v and ground, couldn’t you have just gone into the fusebox?
