UnaParteDMi says:

what motor oil do you recommend us for 4runner?

SteveXnycperformance says:

around 15 min. Follow the blue labeling it will help you. Be care full to
seal all joint when replacing component. oil free surface before gasket
apply is a MUST.

UnaParteDMi says:

the are the fuel lines because i want to install a magnetic fuel saver

DaytonCarCare says:

Sounds like it needs a valve adjustment as well.

UnaParteDMi says:

mine leaks from valve cover, but does not smoke, do i have to replace it or
what?

SteveXnycperformance says:

tropical climate is 10-40 . cool climate 10-30

Andrew M says:

hahahahahaha dude….I have the same issue…everyone says its gotta be an
exhaust leak, or a bad cat or whatever…My valves are fucked like this
guy….who sounds like an idiot

SteveXnycperformance says:

@toyautotech Ture. Most people with Toyota don`t have money to maintain
they recycle car, instead they have money for montly payment with interest
and fees.the truck was send to the scrap-yard for recycling…:).The
ticking is cause by a low oil pressure(worn out oil pump).the hydralic
valve lifers are bleeding down causing clearance issue with the rocker and
the tip of the valve stem.

SteveXnycperformance says:

try a universal adapter at the end of a long 3/8 extension with the 5/8
spark plug socket.

senorchipotle says:

i’ve got the exact same model and i need to change the spark plugs. the
task looks incredibly daunting as i’ve never done any engine work before
and don’t want to screw anything up. it looks as though i’m going to have
to take off the top part of the engine just to get to them. any tips would
be greatly appreciated. thanks!

UnaParteDMi says:

So just the disassemble, how long it takes? thx

SteveXnycperformance says:

An hour the most. most of the time will be spend cleaning-up and preparing
the new gaskets.

UnaParteDMi says:

do you know where i can buy a scan reader tool, for my 1993 4runner?
because, all readers are for 96 and newer cars. thx

Andrew M says:

Fuck yeah man! I always feel fanfuckintastic! Thanks for asking bro!!!

SteveXnycperformance says:

with a leak and u keep adding fresh oil, you will never need a oil change.
the oil will soon make it way to other rubber parts, which will damage
those parts and you will have future problem. Think about it?

SteveXnycperformance says:

Follow the fuel line from its engine fuel rail in the best way to find it,
and it make you look smart. Try this video /watch?v=8qkYXcIpSiU .

Justin Davidson says:

Any tips on getting the intake manifold off mine is stuck!

d yang says:

Bad ticking noise. I know its not rod bearing but its just as loud.

SteveXnycperformance says:

You can also Google “Toyota 4 Runner Installing jumper wire in
DLC(pick-up)”. Look for the OD lit flashing sequence.it is important in
putting the codes together so we can know the trouble code

senorchipotle says:

thanks, man! i went back out yesterday and what i thought were the spark
plus weren’t, so that was good. now i just have to go get a super long
extension.

Andrew M says:

dude…you dont need to fix the valve cover….you need to buy a new engine
or rebuild your top end…if thats all thats wrong with your 3.slow SR5

Cole Rockrohr says:

I have a gas leak (big one) right where the line goes into the injectors,
whats the best way to get in there. i know i have to take off that top
cover there but didn’t know if you had some tips for me.

SteveXnycperformance says:

do you feel better now?

evenmix1 says:

Sounds like you got it running like a Casio watch

SteveXnycperformance says:

@LifEndsQuick A hydraulic lifer noise is much louder than any injector
ticking in any application.Remember all Hydraulic lifer are internally
equip with a coil spring.High mileage will reduce coil spring
tension.replacement is the only solution.

SteveXnycperformance says:

Note number of flashes from OD OFF light on instrument panel. If trouble
code exists, OD OFF light will flash once every second.number of flashes
will equal first digit of trouble code. After a pause of 1.5 seconds,
second digit will be displayed.next trouble code will be displayed after
pause of 2.5 seconds. Smallest value trouble code will be first. Trouble
codes will be repeated.

Dillon Powers says:

@toyautotech yes that is valve tick but a lot of the 3vze injectors are
very loud and give off a ticking noise but in most cases you cant hear
injector tick at idle just when accelerating …hold one end of a
screwdriver to the fuel rail and another to your ear. while the motor is
running the injectors tick quite loud

SteveXnycperformance says:

The 93 Computer is non-OBD. it is a EECV and the diagnostic port(data link)
for the engine is located in the engine compartment, right side fender. It
a 17 pin connector.all the pins may not be in uses, The terminal TE1,TE2
and E1 should be concern with. Turn ignition on. DO NOT start engine.
Depress OD switch to the ON position. Install jumper wire between terminals
TE1 and E1 of data link connector.
