Dad Garage says:

I prefer being lucky as well. My Hilux kept stalling intermittently and wouldn't restart. Replaced the igniter. Still stalled randomly. Replaced the coil because it was fried. Died again but that time, I lucked out and found the igniter and coil were only getting 6 volts. A new ignition switch fixed everything.

Excellent video ! Thankyou. I'm not a qualified tech but I know the very basics. My mothers car had pressure building up in the cooling system. When the radiator cap was removed you could see small bubbles. I told this to a qualified tech who had "seen it all before" and refused to look at the vehicle and suggested that I sell it. He "knew" it was the head gasket. I, as a matter of trial and error, replaced the thermostat fixing the whole issue. If I had taken his advice I would have sold a car that needed 40 dollars in parts because of his wonderful "knowledge". cheers

Great Job the only thing is to much talking for a simple answer

Bill Simpson says:

Intermittent wiring problems = NIGHTMARE. Thankfully, they are kind of rare, except in the salt belt.

Tardeli costantini says:

Nice job! There's steps with electrical work. Frustration got the better of that mechanic.

Joe Dominick says:

Petr, a quality pair of ear plugs will take care of that crooner! I enjoyed the video!

Kevin Glover says:

I want to sell my 2015 Camry SE for 2022 Camry Hybrid XSE. What are your thoughts about this Hybrid system and transmission?

02markcal says:

I've heard a good set of earplugs can counter bad singing.

Tony Miles says:

I have always loved your content, but you should have encouraged him to have the vehicle towed. Driving with a misfiring cylinder could foul up his catalytic converter requiring even more repair work.

Let someone else say it – “you are better” than the other guy and you got to the bottom of it. Thanks for sharing

Toyota Friends is there a relatively cheap code scanner that can read ABS on a 2006 Tacoma? I bought the bluedriver and come to find out it can't read abs on that year/model… Piece of rubbish!!! Pretty sure its a wheel speed sensor not sure which one.

Of all of the fantastic videos this man has recorded, this one is up there with my favorites. Sure, he may have gotten "lucky" this time. But, a famous baseball executive named Branch Rickey stated that luck is the residue of design. Simply put, it means that success tends to follow for those who put in the time and effort to make themselves better at their jobs, irrespective of whatever natural talents one might possess. Peter is a credit to his profession; in addition to being a wonderful person, he has never ceased putting in the time and effort to be the best he could be. The same cannot be said for the mechanic(s) who gave up trying to find and properly diagnose the problem prior to Peter.

Powerman says:

These basic troubleshooting guides are needed these days. It’s just not taught anywhere anymore.
The schools have almost all closed their auto shop courses. No basic mechanical skills are shown.
It’s a good video. I hope more people watch it.

Who would you rather hear sing ? Klaus Meine from scorpions?

Proud Texan says:

Damn Peter, you are an AWESOME MECHANIC!! You remind me of my dad who was mechanic for many years and he diagnosed problems just like you!! Very patient, but also very methodical in his approach to find the REAL ISSUE without incurring unnecessary additional cost!! This customer was really, really, lucky to find you! Good day, my friend from here in SATX
