Great video BUT i am assuming this are the front breaks. Are the rear
breaks the same?

Ramon Merel says:

I would have made the mistake of releasing the bolts and lose the brake
fluid. It would have been a major headache. Thank you for the video.

THANKS!!

Roosevelt Houston says:

This was a very easy procedure. It took me about 2 hours to do both front
and back brakes. The only difference is on the back brakes, take the 2
bolts (17mm), then remove the caliper. The brakes come off with little
prying and I used a clamp to push the caliper in. This was on a 2005 toyota
4runner 2WD.

I just did this today and took out four bolts! It started to leak so I put
it back together and realized I only had to remove the pins. The leak stop
temporarily but now is leaking again and I found a small rubber washer on
the ground after I put the wheel back on! Do you know where this washer
goes? Which Bolt? I have to fix in the morning

LOCAL94NYCENGINEER says:

I Have a 2004 4 runner v8 4.7. Did the rear rotors and pads. the caliper
only had “ONE” Piston. I hope The front caliper has the same as this video.
the rear was tricky. I had to remove the caliper AND The brake pad
brackett!!

received message from KnightChivalry:”Re:Please Help 2005 4 Runner thank
you for reply So I should remove all four bolts again and see if I get
washer between? I am not sure where or which bolt had washer. do you have
any idea? I HOPE i dont have to take off whole caliper”. My answers: 6.
think about why there are bolts? Because the bolts are holding two metal
surfaces. 7. the fluid flows from the 1st metal surface to 2nd metal
surface 8. without the washer, fluid leaks BETWEEN 2 metal surfaces

corgLLC says:

1. The bolts are holding the two metal surfaces. 2. Once you take out the 4
bolts again, you will see the place you can place the rubber washer in
between the two metal surface. 3. The leak comes from the opening where the
rubber washer is. 4. The position is closer to the top. 5. Once you insert
the rubber washer in between the two metal surfaces, and tight the bolts,
the leak would immediately stop.

very glad this video have helped you out
