Newer car DIY inspection Camry Avalon HV fan filter and Dealership messed up!

A Toyota master diagnostic technician shows you simple Newer car DIY inspection on your car after it’s been serviced by the dealership. Also latest Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid fan filter service for the hybrid battery.

This video started out in life as a simple and quick how to replace a 2018+ Camry Hybrid and 2019+ Avalon hybrid fan filter service and some simple tips on DIY checks while you’re at it. But to my surprise I find serious mistakes by the dealership that just serviced this car 2 weeks ago under the Toyota Care program.

I always encourage you to do your own car maintenance or at least understand it and be on top of it. Even if you are not very handy with cars learning how to do the most basic maintenance on your car could save you a lot of money and you can easily start seeing if your “trusted” mechanic is doing things well or not.

Dealerships are not all equal. And even within good dealerships there are bad mechanics. Always double check the basics which are easily missed. And as I always recommend get to know your dealership on a first name basis that way you know who you’re dealing with and who exactly is working on your car.

I watch Scotty Kilmer, too. He advises to double check dealership maintenance, also…

2008 Taco 104k miles. Very randomly I have an extended crank to start 5-6 seconds. I have continued cranking until truck starts, I have also stopped and cycled the key and cranked again. Truck always starts after initial long crank. It may happen once a month or perhaps even longer between occurrences. It happens so randomly I am unable to diagnose it, have you ever come across this? Thank you for all your hard work!

We need more honest automobile mechanics that really try to help consumers with regular maintenance on new cars. Thanks God you are helping all of us to open our eyes and see the things that Toyota dealership technicians to some time missed. Thanks so much for your help. We really appreciate
Keep those videos coming. We love them May God bless you and keep your beautiful family safe and healthy.

Every since I saw 2 dealership mechanics smoke weed while on break with their uniforms on I told myself wish I would

C. Clark says:

So as the professional that you are (and appreciated), did you notify the appropriate authorities, either at dealership or regional manager, and alert them of this? What was the response?
Again, appropriate you.

Thank you AMD. Giving thanks when it’s due.

This is why I do checks after the dealer oil change/inspection.
Tire pressure, fluids, filters, overall inspection. Also do the same inspection when I do the 6 month oil change using Toyota oil and filter keeping the receipt and documenting date and mileage. Why change the oil at the 6 month interval at home? OIL IS CHEAP, ENGINES ARE EXPENSIVE! Plus, if anything is bad or needs repair, it can be done at that time either by the dealer or me.

Great great great video to watch.
I just purchased a 2021 camery xle hybrid last month all your video's are chock full of very useful information to look for on my new purchase.
Just wondering if the camery is filled with full synthetic oil is the oil change intervals every 10,000 like it say in the toyota car brochure?
I know from watching your other videos you said to change the oil every 5,000 miles which I did on my 2014 camery hybrid before I traded it in on this 2021.
Keep the great information videos coming here to Pittsburgh Pa.
Thks

I have a similar issue to this, earlier this year I bought a new 2021 Toyota Corolla, I took it in to its 5 moth service. When I got the receipt it said that everything was ok and that there was no need for an oil change ( I took it in for its 5 month service but my car only had 3k miles). But ever since I had the car I heard a bit of a rattle, but anyways couple days later after I had it serviced I decided to check the oil level, and it was a bit low, also the coolant level was below the low line. I called them up and I have a appointment with them this Saturday. By any chance will my engine rattle if it’s low on oil? As of now my car has 4,754 miles. Will they try and blame anything on me?

Does the need rav4 has the same flaws with the trans/engine seals leaking like the previous gen or they improve it ?
