My Toyota Tacoma Paint is Peeling | They Won’t Cover It

My Toyota Tacoma Paint is Peeling | They Won’t Cover It

Do you own a Toyota Tacoma and have FLAKY PAINT issues? I DO. After a few hours on forums I realized I’m not the only one with this issue and unfortunately Toyota hasn’t done much to fix the issue.

THE FIX : My father had the brilliant idea of having the affected areas ( Doors Near Window Trims ) wrapped to match the factory vinyl on the door pillars and the results were amazing!

WHO FIXED IT? : I visited my friend Marvin @beyondwraps. He removed the window trims, mirrors and perfectly followed the factory body lines wrapping the afe to areas. ( homie has skills )

HOW MUCH DID IT COST? : $400

All to say, I’m so glad I finally got this fixed. Thank you Marvin.

Rogelio Tamase says:

Same with my 2012. Peeling around the windows, door frames, roof edges and under the hood. Corporate wouldn't do anything because it was way past warranty. I went back to the dealer where I bought the truck. They agreed to pay for half the job. I decided it was the best way to handle it.

TheYeller says:

I'm a tech for Toyota and we see that issue a lot with white corollas. As far as I know our dealership is getting that covered under warranty. I wasn't aware that happened with Tacomas too.

Dustin Lawless says:

What roof rack light bar combo is that?

clayton gley says:

Toyota really should fix the white Tacoma's. Everybody has seen enough of them to know it's a Toyota issue.

nilo elacion says:

Finally someone with a platform put it out there. Toyota Temecula dealership and Toyota USA haven’t done anything about it and it’s been 8 months since I had them inspect the issue. They just said it’s out of warranty, and they won’t cover it.

Peter Homa says:

Super nice truck man, how many miles do you have it on it now , and have you had any mechanical issues ?

Thanks

Mexi Coya says:

Same here, they tried to say it was just from road debris. That specific paint has already been recalled on a bunch of their other vehicles

Tacoma_Jon says:

It’s crazy that this is a known problem form Toyota and they won’t fix it.

Christian Medellin says:

Maybe parking next to a sprinkler can damage your paint too. At least that's what happened to mine. Would love to get it wrapped!

arturo gonzalez says:

I have the same issue, i have been calling toyota for a while now (2/3 years) they said they couldnt do anything about it. BS

Mol says:

It’s because you put wrap on the truck and this could be a cause of the paint chipping dude. It’s common sense. They can use this against you

Master says:

Toyota doesn't have the best paint my both 07 camry and taco have failing paint

RS313 says:

Just noticed my black taco started chipping by the windows after 1 year, lucky its a lease

mike schoolcraft says:

Do you wash your truck by hand or a drive thru car wash with dirty spinning brushes? It looks like car wash damage.

mike schoolcraft says:

My 2017 off road has not had any issues and was built in Texas. The Tacos from Mexico seem to have several issues. The edges on the doors protective tape has yellowed and not looking so good.

zalllon says:

Very sad to see, when we care so much about our vehicles and make an effort to maintain them for years. I was bouncing back and forth between a Tacoma and a 4Runner. This is one more reason for being glad I went with the 4Runner (still built in Japan).

Abdel Tristani says:

Toyota paint sucks!!

Jason Tarango says:

Damn. My white taco is doing the same thing. Better call Marv
