Nice work on the topinator!

arton power says:

Those type of altenators on Yaris, passo, etc, 'stop' charging when the battery is full. They will charge again to around 14 volts if the driver is using the headlight for example, or simply when the fan goes on.
Just to get better mileage by doing so.
To tell you the truth, i do not like this technology.

Peter McIlroy says:

Does it not piss you off that they don’t go for your initial diagnosis. After all you are the technician

Louis Lewis says:

If the Dashboard No Charging warning light does not come up, probably a customer knowing the age of the battery, thought the issue was the battery. Still, the customer finally approved the fix for the root problem. Another good job by Ray. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

Gorcer says:

At least rainman Ray , scored a good second hand battery for free !

Daryl Morgan says:

Could have saved themselves the cost of a battery if they just took your advice Ray. Still as they say the customer is always right. NOT

David McGee says:

Wow. Someone thought a new battery would fix an alternator. Could have sold them some blinker fluid too. You try to tell some people that what they want won’t fix the problem but they insist. It is a serviceable battery though, a little distilled water probably bring it back to full capacity
Enjoying your content. Doo Dee doo Dee doo. Gravity

Lucas Dt says:

the air filter box clip came undone again before you closed the hood

Chris Nicholls says:

The clip on the airbox came loose again.

Xx Xx says:

24:32 THAT NUT SHULD NOT BE REMOVED. The cable goes on top of that nut and a second nut on top of that. Look at how the old one is dismantled 11:40. There are two nuts.
The 12v connection is now mounted wrongly and with torque squeezing the plastic insulator that will soon crack with failure and potential fire hazard as a consequence.

D brandon says:

I can’t stand stupid customers.

SharkDude1 says:

My oil light is on. I think if you rotate my tires that will fix the problem.

tillo328 says:

Ray each your videos everyday from across the pond they are just great keep it up. You certainly got me laughing with this one though, I've just done the water pump on my 2008 Yaris 1.8 SR and had to remove the alternator to access the pump and had to go through the same process with very limited space so I could sympathise with you on this one. Again great content and conclusions to your videos and don't forget. "Have a great day"

Robert Doane says:

I see you finally use the wire brush on a drill vs the combo hand brush.

Allen Ermey says:

Well that was fun how many jobs do you get a day?

Kevin Jekyll says:

Great as always, I have a Vitz rs which I think has the same power train, I will probably need to do this one day, content saved, thanks from the future, now that's a good click…

Matt W says:

you forgot one clip on the air box LOL time at 27:03

Roger Hammond says:

When supplying customers with the recommended solution the link to this youtube channel should also be provided if they have any doubts…just replace the damn 'nator

Jeffry Blackmon says:

What a terrible place to mount an alternator- close to the exhaust manifold. Good work, as always, Ray.

Sideslip says:

1:40 for the win! Digital Underground the Humpty dance.

The Real MrCods says:

Did you notice at the end before the bonnet/hood shut the clip on the air box had come back off lol

David Reali says:

Was that a dude with red gy hair

Ted E says:

Ray is my new favorite youtube channel, I been binge watching these episodes the last few days

gwcracker says:

Difficult to find an honest tech now. Why you have to replace the battery first. They have been lied to before.
