Wow thanks brotha for the video you saved me so much money
Thank you very well detailed video, i needed to know how to disconnect the power plug of the fuel pump.
Absolutely awesome video. Thank you so much for doing this.
Can someone tell me , should the inside of my car smell like gasoline? I got my recall and they fixed it today but the inside of my car smells like gas .
Definitely appreciated and subscribed..doin this job on a 2007 sr5 4runner 4.0 this week..
I lost count as to how many times he said he was "using my Milwaukee tool" to do something. Rather obvious the Milwaukee Tools is compensating him for the mentions.
Thank you for a very informative video. I just purchased a used 2015 4Runner and 300 miles from leaving the dealership (dealership was 220 miles from my home) check engine light came on. Took it to the Toyota dealership in my town and it came back with the code PO456. The dealership recommended replacing the EVAP canister. I first replaced the gas cap and cleared codes. Code came back a few days later. My question is when the fuel pump was replaced, could the EVAP canister or hoses been affected when the dealership replaced the fuel pump prior to my purchase? Thank you again.
Man i wish i had the patience, i get frustrated and start cussing the whole process
Fantastic job on this video, you covered every step. I have a recall on mine so the dealer is gonna do it, but I just wanted to see what's involved.
do you know what color is the power wire for the fuel pump?
Check on Toyota recall on fuel pump.
I followed this video very closely but I just replaced the pump and strainer. My FJ Cruiser cranks but won’t start. Is there a final step to purge the fuel lines of air or prime the fuel system? Thanks.
Watching this video just saved me a ton of work. Not going to do this myself; taking it to the dealer for the recall, but the lady at the service desk told me I’d have to remove everything in the back of the vehicle. In my case, that includes a loaded drawer system and fridge slide.
Don’t see any need for them to have the back empty. Service lady is mistaken.
Had it in to them before. They freaked because of the aftermarket CBI fuel tank skid.
I’ll remove the skid for them, because obviously it’s beyond their skill set, but will leave the drawer system in place.
Thanks for an excellent, informative video!
your not going to replace fuel filter?
Hi. My neighbor ask me to get fuel out of his car with a long hose. But now the fuel level stays at half even if he fills it up. Did i damage the float/sensor assembly? 2019 highlander v6.
Thanks man! Needed this video badly!
Looks easy 🙂
My 2015 Venza may need a new fuel pressure regulator. Im dradding that the fuel tank will need to be removed.
Informative and nicely done. Thank you.
Hi Brian, great video, I've followed it through for the FJ cruiser, very similar. Connected everything back up but the vehicle isn't getting any fuel to the engine. I've tried priming by starting but after 10 mins it's still not starting! Any idea what it is?
For the 4runner SUV. Remove the back seat bolts (behind a passengers ankle) usually 3, the seat can then be tilted back revealing a panel. Remove using the other end of the wheel nut wrench, crowbar or large screwdriver. The top of the fuel tank pump is revealed.
how do i test the verify the pump is the problem
Great video. About how long did it take to do the whole job? Toyota is now recalling around 700k 2018-2019 4Runner for the fuel pumps that may fail at high speeds. Letters to go out to owners in March 2020.
Brian, Great video, Thank you. Really appreciate your clarity from beginning to end.. I've got an '07 Tacoma 4.0 v6 & can't find a clear video of dropping the gas tank to replace the fuel pump,etc.. Can you give me some direction? It's OK to email me..
Thanks Again
I just filled up and drove off… not 50ft away my t4r stopped dead. Like a light switch. No sputtering or stumbling, just off.
Turns over like a champ, no CEL's nothing flashing…dead.
No fuel pump audible.
Is there a relay that may be the culprit? I couldn't find one labeled as such.
The Delphi price ranges from 400+ to over 700 and the Spectra brand is approx 215$
Any input on one over the other?
Thank you kindly
Dave
BTW….your video quality and flow is the best I've ever seen
Excellent video. almost same for the 4th gen 4unner, – 2003 – 2009 models
