Many thanks for taking the time to post the video. Saved me a pack of
problems.

BlasterCobra says:

Thanks for posting this video, you saved me a heck of a lot of frustration
and cussing. I have a 1998 Tacoma and replaced both headlights in less than
an hour taking my time and didn’t break any clips. I paid $65 for a new
pair of headlights from Nordstrom’s on ebay. I hope they last a good while.
Thanks again !

Although these headlights look great I cannot recommend them. The light
output is spotty at best. What I mean by spotty is that there are shadows
within the light output. I purchased these at autoanything

thanks for replying back.

Gilbert Gia says:

On mine, the grill and metal pieces under the lights were impossible to
remove without busting some of the holding clips. The ones are
bayonet-style, not like the ones you showed. Still don’t understand how
those should best be removed. The metal strips under the lights need the
reusable plastic holder. All these parts should be lubed with teflon before
everything is popped back and bolted on. The running lights have a bolt and
a pop-in nipple. Hard to remove cause you can’t see it.

Come at me Bro says:

i have a 2000 tacoma what if the corner lights on the bottom which you
slide in/out to install are cracked open so it does not lock in and it can
wobble around? and also on the other side where you screw in the corner
light is busted. What is the replacement piece called so the lights can be
installed properly.

Gerald Clay says:

On my truck once I installed them they were almost in perfect alignment.
Not perfect but close enough. You may have different results and if they
are out of alignment then of course you will have to align them.

Gerald Clay says:

@texasjgreen So very glad it was of help.

Mark Mp says:

I have one question, do you need to aim the headlights after the install?

Gerald Clay says:

Glad this video was of help to you. Congrats on saving big bucks.

So very glad this was a help to you.

This video saved me hours of frustration. I have a 2001 4runner and the
driver side headlight was cracked. I couldn’t figure out how to take the
assembly out, but this video walked me right through it. THANKS!!!

Konaboy7 says:

Just ordered a pair of clear headlights myself, along with corners. Thanks
man, this vid saves me a LOAD of time.

Gerald Clay says:

@titaniumsalute04 The new lights look great but I am not 100% satisfied
with their performance. There are some shadows in the light pattern.

A shop in town wanted $500 to do this job. CRAZY. I’m not a mechanic at
all. I got the parts on line Two headlights two turnsignals lenses. Free
shipping $118 And with video and book I had it in and finished in about 1.5
hours. If the shop Quote was $250 I think I’d just take it in But $500. Sad
that shops feel like your made of GOLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I just say (
Rip Off ). Thanks. You saved $400 dollars !!!

Matt Barr says:

@kyclay58 Yeah are the same way….there’s no specific beam. Just kind of a
spray of splotchy light. But much better than what I had no doubt. Thanks
again.

I’m about to install the identical headlights and 6000k HID light kit. Your
video is extremely helpful thanks. Wish I would of found sooner, before I
broke my grille clips.

Gerald Clay says:

@gilgia On the clips like yours you take a small screwdriver and push on
the clip on one side and pull slightly, then push on the opposite side and
it should then come apart. Like you said these are very easy to break
especially on an older truck. I was lucky in that nothing broke for me.

riders315 says:

What website did you get those headlights from, I’m thinking on getting
some for my 1998 tacoma too?

Gerald Clay says:

I would advise you to visit your local salvage yard to get any replacement
parts you need other than the actual light assembly.

Gerald Clay says:

Actually they look great but the light output is spotty with shadows. I
would not recommend these headlights.

Trent Bever says:

Thanks this did help me on my 96 Tacoma yesterday thanks for posting this.

texasjgreen says:

@texasjgreen I broke 1 clip tho..

Matt Barr says:

Just ordered some new headlights that look identical to your new ones. How
do they perform compared to your old ones? I appreciate the video…I think
it’ll save me a crapload of time tryin to figure all that mess out. God
bless ya bud.
