Aidan Lovick says:

I used this as a template to do this on my 2018 Corolla and I skipped a few steps and almost screwed myself and it took probably 30 minutes of hammering with a few different pickle forks in different directions to break the ball joint loose from the knuckle

Pasquale Gallo says:

Leaving the cotter pin facing up instead of on the side of the castle nut will cause cv axel to come in contact with the pin.

Lane Murphy says:

Is this the same for 1996?

You make this look so easy. I have a 2004 corolla which is basically the same. When I put the new ball joint on , there was a good inch of space from the control arm. I had to fight with it for a good hour and a half to get the bolts back in. I don’t even know how I was finally able to get it back together. Wheel feels great though, no more clickety-clack going on.

Paul Bateman says:

Just did mine on my 95 Tercel. I can say with authority, the main nut DOES NOT loosen that easily. One side I had to remove the axle from the hub, undo everything else, cut the nut off and hammer the stud out.
