That is why the rear wheels are off. You do not need to remove the rear wheels to remove the driveshaft.

Friend got it diagnosed at Toyota dealer for excessive vibration at highway speeds.
Technician recommended for a new driveshaft, the old driveshaft is out of balance. They quoted her $700 for a new OEM driveshaft and $200 for labor.

I bought a new driveshaft for $360 at Dan’s Driveline and charged her $100 for labor.

Quick question, I have noticed on the transmission side that there is a protective shield that goes around the original driveshaft as it slips into the Trans. I have received the same new part as yours without the shield. Have you had any problems with leaks or any other problems. I'm about to install mine and was just wondering. CG

I got a 2016 4runner 12k miles in it. I noticed an intermittent vibration on 2wd around 20 to 40 mph. It started this cold weather with around 35F. The lower the temp goes, the vibration got worse. Went to dealership and they can't find any problem. They checked other 4runner and said it's doing thesame thing, they concluded that it's normal for 4runners. They called up toyota technical support, and suggested thesame that it's normal. Do you buy that? Saying it's normal? Btw, vibration is gone during 4wd.
