You could've put 2 large nuts on the bolts and not hacksaw it off.

Watched your video, it took me about an hour to replace thr handle. One thing I did wrong was that I removed the screws before I removed the latch arm. Big mistake. Thank you.

BTW, the opposite jaws on the caliper are for taking "inside" measurements (e.g. when measuring from the edge of a nut to the end of the bolt before cutting).
