Mine sticks coming down sometimes and won’t go back up. do i just need to
lube something?

1A Auto Parts says:

You could try to grease the track on the window regulator with some white
lithium grease and you could also try to spray the weatherstrip around the
window with some silicone spray. Hope this helps you out.

Rick Filkins says:

Nicely done! My window doesn’t work. I replaced the switch at the door and
that didn’t help. Is there any reason to think it is not the motor that is
causing the problem?

songmanslim says:

EXCELLENT WALK THROUGH!!! I just replaced the window motor on my 01 corolla
in 20 min thanks to this video, it is spot on, and eliminates surprises and
tons of frustration. THANK YOU!

I just wanted to thank you, as many others have, for saving me a lot of
money. My passenger side window hasn’t been able to go up, without help,
since we bought the car in 2006. I brought it to a garage last year and
they told me I needed a new regulator. After watching your video, I dared
to remove the door panel and take a look for myself. To my surprise, 2 of
the bolts holding the regulator in place were off and 3 were loose. The
window now works perfectly!! Thanks again!

Thank you for making & sharing the video

1A Auto Parts says:

@dna079 A Chiltons or Haynes manual may tell you where on the vehicle this
is located.

1A Auto Parts says:

Check the window switch to see if it’s causing this issue, also check the
wire harness between the door and body of the car to see if there’s a
broken or frayed wire that may be causing this issue.

Mark Welsch says:

Do I need to replace this part, or some other part, if my window SOMETIMES
won’t go up. It usually works fine, but sometimes it will go up part way
and stop. After waiting different amounts of time, it will sometimes go up
the rest of the way, or only a little bit more. It eventually will go up
all the way.

Mark William says:

Thanks so much for this, I was dreading having to do this and your effort
here made it quite painless for me. Subscribed and I see you have a how to
on headlights for an 01 corolla. I’ll make sure and by the parts from you
when I tackle that. Cheers.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check to see if there’s a blown fuse somewhere or you could
also test the wire to see if there’s power to the window regulator.

1A Auto Parts says:

You’re welcome. Thank you for checking out our auto repair videos on
YouTube.

Thank you sir for the demo!! I finally replaced the regulator by myself
while watching this video. The Toyota dealer gave me a quote last week
asking for $710 for the part and labor! They said even just the motor will
cost $400! That is really a rip-off!! Finally, I found this video at
youtube.com last night. In this morning, I purchased a Toyota 2002
regulator from AutoPart shop. It costs $96. In this afternoon, I spent 2.5
hours and replaced the regulator. Saved $600!! Thank you!

1A Auto Parts says:

I have a 1990 right hand drive Corolla. The driver side window switches are
burnt out and only the 2 left windows work. Is there any way to repair this
by myself?

1A Auto Parts says:

Unfortunately we do not sell the adhesive or have a video on how to replace
the door latch itself.

ctrashp says:

thanks, for the video, makes changing a regulator a breeze…..

1A Auto Parts says:

You will have to replace the switch. There is no way to repair most of the
electronics on cars now a days.

Don Celestino says:

I took the plunge and dove in on this project and was surprised how smooth
it went. I would not have done it without your video. The regulator and
motor part I received was slightly different than the one I replaced.
Instead of a set bolt in the regulator frame there was need for another
10mm screw. Luckily I had one in my shop! This is the 2nd project you have
helped me on. The first was replacing the driver side interior door latch.
You have me as a follower for my next projects!! Thanks.

Hello, I need to replace front wheel drive axle on my 1999 corolla but i
seem to have problem with the socket size. The nut on the spindle has this
star shapes and seems not to fit 30mm or 32mm socket. Please help. What
socket size do I need? Thank you

Donald Eberhart says:

The part you are installing has two rails which are approximately the same
length and a stud used for the first step in installation. I ordered the
part that is linked to the video. The part that I received has one short
rail and no stud. I had to return that part. What part number should I
order to get one that is identical to this video?

comeon4317 says:

alboespflug says:

In this video are you replacing the motor and regulator? It looks like it
from the description but I didn’t hear him say anything about the motor. If
not, is there a video that shows about to replace both? Thanks!
