Great video, I’ve got a 2010 Sienna and the brake calipers look exactly the
same. I was thrilled you gave the torque specs.

XOsuperior says:

Thanks alot! I assume the concept is more or less the same on most Toyotas?
Avensis 2000 in my case

rylichief says:

can u apply this same method to a 06 corolla

Jim Farrell says:

** when compressing the brake piston, keep a eye out on your brake fluid,
may spill over if overfilled **

Thanks bro, very helpful!

dontlookatmeokay says:

Do you have to bleed the brake line when pushing the caliper piston inward
so as to bleed any air from the system. Do you have to lift up the hood and
open the brake fluid resivoir at all? I am not sure how to do this and will
try it for the first time this week. Please advise. Thanks.

Do you have a video on how to replace the spark plugs on the 2004 Sienna?
They say its about a 4 hour job and cost over $600> its nothing easy like
the 98 corolla

Dave S says:

love the pry bar to set the caliper back. no big c clamp required

24SuperJ says:

You do not use grease on the sliders. You should use a silicone lubricant or
copper anti cease.Grease will dry out and gum up everything. Not to mention
swell those small rubber rings on the slider pins. Also need to clean all
sliders including the pad sliders before applying the silicone or copper
anti cease.I enjoy your videos just the same. Thanks

Thanks it was very helpful

1A Auto Parts says:

@mamothcar1 If it’s not the same, it may be very similar.

vayacuadro says:

@1aauto Thanks man. Will check the calipers and let you know any feedback.
Thanks again, at least I am saving some money. All the best.

1A Auto Parts says:

If it’s at the proper level, before you begin this task, you should be
okay.

1A Auto Parts says:

@vayacuadro This video will pretty much show you how to unbolt them from
everything. Then you would need to remove the flex hose to free the brake
caliper on your 2001 Toyota Sienna. You should try bleeding them first
though to see if that frees them up.

Michael Kline says:

Thank you for the help. Used this video and everything went smooth.

MrPorschecarko1 says:

Thank you! Now to my garage and do exactly what I’ve just learned! 🙂

vayacuadro says:

Hi there, one question, how do I replace the calipers in a Toyota Sienna
2001? I have a vibration every time I push the brakes and look like the
caliper is not retracting. It is time to change them, but don’t know how.
Could you please post a video on how to do it? Thanks in advance.

mamothcar1 says:

awesome video – is the 2004 Sienna the same?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may need to also use a C-Clamp to compress the caliper piston all the
way in. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Jaime Jimenez says:

Thanks for the upload.

1A Auto Parts says:

@WWAAZZUUPP2011 We’ll keep this in mind when we have another one of these
vehicles to repair again.

Tim Dorrough says:

If you lay the old pad over the caliper piston you can compress it with the
c clamp and it will be perfectly flat with the housing its in. Just so you
can insure even pressure on the piston

WWAAZZUUPP2011 says:

When are you going to post a video of the rear brakes?

John Samuel says:

Super video. Thanks very much of explaining and showing the process with
clear instructions and video. I’ll be sure to check back. Great job. Thank
you.

1A Auto Parts says:

This video will show you exactly what needs to be done to change your
brakes. You shouldn’t have to bleed them.
